Everything you tune after the install lives under the Setup menu. This chapter goes through it page by page: the twelve tabs of General Settings, Automation Settings, e-mail templates and Mail Settings, themes, languages, Security, API credentials, administrators and roles, Order Form Settings and Fraud Protection. Products, gateways, registrars, servers and the licence have their own chapters: Products, Gateways, Registrars, Servers and The licence.

Every settings page saves with Save Changes, shows Changes saved successfully. and writes a line in the Activity Log. Setting pages need the Configure General Settings permission, except where noted.

Out of the box the install sets sensible values: suspend 7 days after the due date, no automatic termination, reminders 7 days before the due date, overdue notices after 1, 5 and 10 days, a ban after 5 failed sign-ins for 15 minutes, passwords of at least 8 characters.

Automation Settings

Setup → Automation Settings holds the rules the cron follows, in five cards: Billing (daily cron hour, invoice generation days, payment terms, reminder and overdue days, late fee days, credit, PDF attachment), Suspension and Termination, Domains, Tickets and Clients and Other. The right side shows the cron command, the web cron address, the last run and the heartbeat. Each setting is explained in Automation.

E-mail templates

Setup → Email Templates lists every message the system sends, in seven types: General, Product/Service, Domain, Invoice, Support, Affiliate and Admin Messages (57 are built in). Create Template adds your own; a switch turns a message off.

Opening a template shows: Subject, Message (HTML), From Name, From Address, Copy To (CC), Blind Copy To, Plain Text and Disable. Send Test to Me mails it to your own address with sample values, and Restore Default brings back the shipped text of a built-in template. A custom template can also be renamed and deleted; built-in ones cannot be deleted, only switched off.

Merge fields are written {$client_name}. A block {if $field}...{/if} shows only when the field has a value. The panel on the right of the editor lists the fields of the type; click one to insert it. Common to all: client_name, client_first_name, client_last_name, client_company_name, client_email, the address fields, client_credit, company_name, company_domain, system_url, client_area_url, signature, date and time. Invoice templates add invoice_num, invoice_total, invoice_date_due, invoice_link and invoice_html_contents; product templates service_product_name, service_domain, service_username, service_password; domain templates domain_name and domain_expiry_date; support templates ticket_id, ticket_subject, ticket_message and ticket_link.

Under Language versions you add a copy of a template in another language; the client's language picks the version and English is the fallback.

Mail Settings

Setup → Mail Settings (also the Mail tab of General Settings) controls how mail leaves the system. The top shows how many messages were sent and failed today, and links to the message log.

SettingMeaning
Send E-mailOne switch for all outgoing mail.
Mail TypePHP Mail or SMTP.
SMTP Host / Port / Username / PasswordThe password is stored encrypted; leave it empty to keep it. Port 25, 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS).
SMTP EncryptionNone, SSL or TLS (STARTTLS).
Global Email Sender Name / AddressThe From of every message.
BCC MessagesA copy of every message goes here.
Global Email Signature / Header / FooterHTML around every message; {logo}, {company}, {url} and {year} work in the header and footer.
Add -f to PHP mail()Sets the envelope sender; some shared hosts need it.

Press Send test e-mail after every change.

Themes & Appearance

Setup → Themes & Appearance lists the themes of the Client Area and of the Admin Area: version, author, free or premium (and whether your licence covers it), and which one is in use. Use switches; Preview opens the face. A theme with options shows an Options panel (colours, texts, choices) with Save and a reset to defaults. Upload a theme takes a ZIP. See Premium themes.

Languages & Translations

Setup → Languages & Translations sets the Default Language and Collect Phrases (writes every untranslated phrase of the pages people open to a list). Pick a language to search, edit, add and delete its phrases, Export JSON and Import JSON from a file or pasted text. The collected list lets you translate the missing phrases in one go.

Security

Setup → Security has five tabs: Banned IPs and E-mails (ban an IP for N minutes, 0 = permanent; ban an e-mail domain such as mailinator.com; automatic bans after too many failed sign-ins are marked), Sign-in Attempts, Sessions (end another signed-in session), Two-Factor (who has it on) and Settings: failed sign-ins before a ban, ban length, minimum password length, force SSL for the admin area, require two-factor for administrators, Captcha Type (None, Built-in question, Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha), the site and secret keys and Captcha on the Login Page. The General Settings Security tab adds E-mail Verification, Sub-accounts, API Log, Module Log and Debug Mode (switch it off on a live site).

API Credentials

Setup → API Credentials creates identifier and secret pairs for the external API, with a note, the administrator they act as, an API role and the allowed IP addresses. The secret is shown once. API roles limit the actions a credential may call. Details are in The API.

Administrators and roles

Setup → Administrators lists the staff. An administrator has a first and last name, e-mail, username, password, role, support departments, theme, language, signature and notes, and can be disabled. Reset two-factor switches two-factor off for someone who lost their device. You cannot delete or disable yourself or the last full administrator.

Setup → Administrator Roles defines what a role may open and do. Tick permissions grouped as the menu (Clients, Orders, Billing, Support, Reports, Utilities, Setup) or choose Full Administrator (*). Three e-mail switches decide the notifications: system e-mails (automation, failures, licence), account e-mails (orders, payments, cancellations) and support e-mails. A role in use cannot be deleted. The install creates Full Administrator, Sales Operator and Support Operator.

Order Form Settings

Setup → Order Form Settings sets the default order form template (Standard Cart, Modern, Comparison Table, Slider), Show Product Descriptions, Show Stock Quantities, Sidebar on the Cart, Domain Renewals in the Cart, Redirect After Checkout, and the terms of service box. Sign-up fields lists the client fields (address, city, state, postcode, country, phone, tax ID and so on) with a tick for each that a new client must fill in; first and last name are always required. Preview the order form opens the store. See The store and cart.

Fraud Protection

Setup → Fraud Protection lists the fraud check modules you installed (activate, Configure), the core rules - Skip Fraud Check for Existing Clients and Blocked Countries (orders from them are held as fraud) - and Banned e-mail domains. Orders that fail a check land under Fraud Orders. See Orders.

Fraud Guard

Fraud Guard is the fraud check module that ships with the script (Setup → Addon Modules, free). Once it is on, it has an entry under the Addons menu that opens its settings page. The settings (the Rules section) are below; the full chapter is Fraud Guard.

SettingWhat it does
Banned countriesTwo-letter country codes separated by commas, for example KP, IR. Orders from clients living there are marked Fraud.
Block disposable e-mail addressesMarks orders from the e-mail domains in the list below as Fraud.
Disposable e-mail domainsOne domain per line; a starter list is filled in for you.
Compare the IP country with the client countryOff by default. Looks the order's IP address up on ip-api.com (needs outgoing HTTP) and flags a different country. Private and local IPs are skipped.
Most orders per IP in one hourMore than this from one IP address in an hour is flagged. Default 5, 0 turns it off.
Order limit for brand-new clientsA client with no earlier accepted order who orders for more than this amount (in the default currency) is flagged. Default 0, which is off.

A flagged order lands under Fraud Orders and is not accepted on its own. See Orders for what you can do with it.
